BUCHANAN / BURNHAM INTERNSHIPS
For undergraduates, graduate students, & recent graduates

$3,000 stipend for summer

DESCRIPTION: Join a team of students, scholars,
and museum professionals studying and promoting
the diverse and dynamic history of Newport, RI.

MUSEUM STUDIES INTERNS gain hands-on experience
in four key areas: interpretation (tour
guiding), collections management (artifact
processing), visitor services (at the Museum of
Newport History), and public relations or
educational programs.

SUBJECT SPECIALIST INTERNS with relevant prior
experience devote half their time to an
independent project in oral history, educational
program development, public relations, or
collections management; the rest of their time
is devoted to interpretation and visitor
services.

Intensive training is provided. EOE.

BENEFITS: $3,000 stipend for the summer.

ELIGIBILITY: current undergraduate & graduate
students and 2005 & 2006 college & university
graduates.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Complete applications must
be received by March 1, 2006. 5 positions are
available; admission is competitive.
